Students for Change

 

In 2004, Stockton Action Volunteers for the Environment (S.A.V.E.) began a campaign to get Stockton College to offer Fair Trade certified coffee on campus. Although S.A.V.E. succeeded, it has been ten years since the original initiative started. The college has since expanded, and with more growth in the future, S.A.V.E. has decided to put Fair Trade (coffee) back on the table.

S.A.V.E. was founded in 1974, only five years after the college opened its doors. Students throughout these 40 years have changed Stockton for the better, from implementing recycling programs, demanding policy changes for the environment, building a farm, and more. Now, S.A.V.E. plans to make Stockton College a Fair Trade certified institution.
